I think the best wedding pictures are the ones that capture emotion. The word emotion encompasses a wide-array of shots you can take, be it from a proud father smiling at his daughter across the room, to the tears in the eyes of a mother during the mother-son dance, to the sparkle the bride & groom get when they look at each other- its an endless possibility of shots, especially at a wedding. Weddings are a fountain of emotion pouring out at every corner. A good photographer will grab this & end up with unique, beautiful shots for the bride & groom.

One of the most important aspects of being a wedding photographer is being professionally aggressive regarding shooting. That does not mean being obscene in your approach & being in the way of the wedding party/guests- no, what it means is that you need to be bold & aggressive in your approach & get the quality shots you are going for. When you get them, duck out of the way & be mindful of the videographer (if any) at the event. You definitely don’t want to stand in the way not doing anything as that does take away from the guest’s enjoyment. The best way to approach a wedding is to think beforehand what images you want to capture, go in for the shot & duck out unnoticed & without disturbing the wedding party & guests.
You can shoot professionally aggressive while still letting guests & wedding party enjoy that special day. They’ll love you for it!

We shot a couple for their engagement shoot last month- beautiful couple & they wanted sunset shots. The key to sunset shots is timing- you have a window of about 12 minutes where the sun is just about to dip down & disappear- that light is one of the best on the planet. It compliments the skin, adds a nice orange/red to the sky- its very beautiful.

We shot a very classy wedding at the Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange, CA. (http://www.theorangehillrestaurant.com/). Very elegant event & the staff was top notch in professionalism.
We took several beautiful shots of the bride & groom, but I especially love this shot. I used the lighting from the room to keep the mood of the bride getting ready.
